I've had no conversations with this guy outside of explaining how to do something (i've been working here longer than he has), so this was pretty out of left field. I was working on cleaning the floor of the prep room (because somehow this floor gets filthy constantly) and had just sprayed down the floor with hot soapy water. As I was scrubbing the floor, i realized the cooler door was open and shut it, so i could scrub the floor right in front of the door, and where the door swings out without getting grimy water into the cooler. It wasn't even closed for more than a couple of seconds when It was shoved open as hard as he could muster, causing me to stumble as it slammed into me.
I kind of just stared at him incredulously and asked “Are you serious?” To which he said “Yes, i was in here.”
I didn't know he had gone in before I closed it, i simply saw that it was open and that i wanted to shut it while I washed the floor. He has a bad habit of opening the cooler door and leaving it open when he isn't even in there(which is against store policy because, surprise, the cooler gets warm if you leave the door open), so i assumed he had left the door open again and shut it.
He proceeded to get in my face about it and I struggled to bite my tongue and refrain from telling him to go fuck himself, or point out where he could stick the handle of the scrub i was using. I ended up storming off and taking an early lunch because I was going to lose my temper if i had to keep dealing with him in that moment.
To the surprise of absolutely no one, when I got back, the others had just elected to leave the grimy soapwater in the floor, for almost an hour, which meant i had to pull out the sprayer and scrub the floor a second time.
Now im sitting here hoping that i get a callback and get hired from one of the places I've applied to because I'm about ready to give my current job the two finger salute and walk.
