As if we needed more reasons to hate managers

I was thinking about a certain manager who left last year and why I never cared for her. I hadn't thought about this in a while, but I recalled exactly why I didn't like her. A position opened in our department, and since she was the head, she was conducting the interviews. I had a coworker who was a very nice guy, someone with the education and work ethic for the position. He applied and she scheduled an interview which was during his shift. I was thinking about a certain manager who left last year and why I never cared for her. I hadn't thought about this in a while, but I recalled exactly why I didn't like her. I had a coworker who was a very nice guy, someone with the education and work ethic for the position. He applied and she scheduled an interview which was during his shift. We were allowed to wear our uniform but he went out of his way to bring a suit and put it on. We all knew he was excited for the opportunity.

I came to find out a days later that she never interviewed him. He went to the administrative office on time, prepared and before she sat down to talk to him, she pointed out that he ended a phrase in his resume with a preposition. Due to this, she didn't feel comfortable interviewing him and she would reconsider it he resubmitted it and corrected that error.

She had had a copy of his resume for days. Why didn't she email him before the scheduled interview to notify him of the error? Why didn't she point it out and interview him anyway. I thought that was outrageous and truly felt bad for the guy. He was humiliated and left our company soon after.

Is this standard? I mean I went to see an apartment the other day and felt bad for wasting the landlord's time because i quickly know it wasn't the place for me. I've been on a ton of interviews and have never had anything like this occur.
