Wife and I to the Pancake factory for lunch with our son and two other couple’s and their kids. In conversation with the waitress about how we were splitting the bill and asking if the gratuity was included or if we needed to leave her tip in the table, she us that she appreciates us asking about the tip and then proceeds to tell us that whenever customers shortchange the servers on the bills, the servers have to pay it out of their paycheck…and when we asked who the owners were, she tells us that they are on vacation—in Ecuador.
