I'm a 30something yr old sub. K to 8. I work both public and catholic. I love it as it fits my busy workout schedule and keeps me busy. I have my MA but can't find a steady job in my field so I chose to sub.
Anyhow. I have been working for 6 years as a sub and have Never been “dresscoded” if anything, teachers and students alike find my avant garde style fun and “cool”. ( I wear stuff likeMargiela, rick Owens, vetements and balenciaga and demonia tall boots )
So the day before holidaybreak, i went to go half day for kindergarten(at a school I never went to before nor will be back as they are racist and transphobic and thr principle(public school) didn't even address me politely. She just said “, you! We can't be wearing that attire here!”. I had on a red velvet dress (nikolia kidswear) that was knee length and had an elizabethan style neck ruffle and a puffy skirt and my black platform wedge boots . I just said “well if there was a dress code i wasnt a ware I'm just a sub. ive never been called out for dress in all my 6 years teaching “. She just said I clddnt wear them and i just laughed and continued my Day. F those close minded idiots.
.does anyone think this was right?
*some of the other teachers were wearing low cut tops (ewwww aka big chest aka piggy body) and leggings which are totally inappropriate . If I choose to wear what the kids do that's my business as long as it's long enough and not skin tight. Now I feel like I have to constsntly look over my shoulder incase some asstard is scrutinizing. My attire (thats absurd)
