I’m an office grunt at a growing company. It’s a catch all position where I work multiple roles and do a lot that other people don’t want to do. We recently got Christmas bonuses and while nearly every employee got an additional paycheck ($1500-$2000) I was given $100, the lowest in the entire company to my knowledge (everyone’s been talking about what they got)
I feel very hurt, insulted and not valued after this. I have worked plenty of jobs where we didn’t get bonuses and if that was the case I wouldn’t be upset, but to have such a huge discrepancy feels very intentional and disrespectful. I was given no explanation prior to getting it as to how the amounts were decided. I plan to talk to my boss this coming week and see what he has to say.
What would you do in my position? Quit on the spot? Suck it up and stick around? I appreciate any thoughts on this
