I work for a company that sells health insurance for different carriers. Last year it was a slow year yet we got $15-$50 bonuses per sale. We also got a Christmas party where they also paid for our hotel room and gas. They sent us company branded items like shirts and bottles, a Christmas gift and gift cards. Then earlier this year there was a new CEO that signed on. I don't know why they switched CEOs though.
This year we got record high sales across all departments and carriers. They even keep sending us emails on how we're getting new contracts and extending existing ones because of how well we did. Yet they reduced our bonuses to $3, cut our raises, the Christmas party, Christmas presents, and gift cards. We also went through hell with their systems constantly being down and having to find work arounds or turning people away.
I know we're not entitled to any of the things I listed above but those were things were promised when hired. They just stopped doing it and it's like it was never promised even though we've surpassed all goals. This year I made 30 times more sales than last year and 13 times the goal. I've been selling over $500k worth yearly premiums per month. They had us work 6 days in a row with the promise that we would get a bonus for each extra day and we're getting nothing. They keep saying they'll check on it and they never give us anything. They also did prizes for the top salesperson and I constantly won them but never received it. The prizes have been in the mail since November. This could've been lucrative for us agents as well but no only the company reaps the benefits.
Again I know I'm not entitled to anything except my hourly wage and base commission per sale. But I'm just irritated and wanted to vent. Thanks for reading.
