Job Scheduled Our Training on MLK Weekend

I only have a few more months until my contract expires but I can’t keep going without venting. I work as a Resident Assistant in a state college. My job requires us to do trainings at the beginning of each semester, usually they involve reviewing policies and “team bonding.” However this semester’s training begins the Friday before MLK weekend and will continue on the following Saturday. We’ll have Sunday & Monday off but not the normal 3 day weekend. Why you ask? Because there’s so much content to cover in our training and apparently we NEED to cover all of it including “team bonding” because “we are like a family” in my department. Originally we scheduled that Saturday from 11am-4pm, but I pushed to move any available sessions to an asynchronous format or push any session towards our “packed” schedule during the weekdays. Originally we scheduled that Saturday from 11am-4pm, but I pushed to move any available sessions to an asynchronous format or push any session towards our “packed” schedule during the weekdays. Unfortunately I only got a maybe on moving 11am-4pm to earlier time in the morning.

I really want to skip this training but it involves a crucial part of my job: scheduling.
