Raise for reporting shit supervisor

My dad was at his job and just got offered full time. He said the only way he will agree is if it’s 32 hours a week full time. He got that. Today, a manager asked him to do some unsafe tasks and he refused. When she tried to push back and get someone else, he went above her head and said what was going on. The store owner later that day pulled him in and handed him some papers to sign. He thought he was being let go, but he was told that they need more people who speak up and was given a dollar raise. Later on the manager apologized to him and all seemed well. I told him keep a log of everything going forth in case of retaliation from the manager, but overall.. proud of him. He got a raise for standing his ground.
