Remembered why I dread job hunting

I work on IT. I last switched jobs on march 2020. I've worked on this new company and everything had been going smoothly until now. Currently, the company is passing through a rough patch and it's getting late on the payments consistently. This made me want to start job hunting again, just to get a feeling on the job market and maybe have a hiring process started in case things go south on my current job. I remembered the dread it was las time I did this, but maybe this time it won't be the same I said. I was wrong. I got contacted on linkedin for this remote developer position for a company located on Brazil. They required for me to do 4 interviews.

Two with HR, they called them “screening interviews”, and two technical interviews.

Before I was able to easily pass the HR interviews, and got stuck on the technical interviews. Well, this time I didn't even made it past HR. The screening interview went well in imo. They asked me the typical questions, “why do you want to switch jobs”, “what is your biggest weakness”, “what made you want to work with us”, etc. I gave the same answers everyone expects.

A day later I got an email saying that they won't continue my hiring process, and that it was because I wasn't able to “portray my interest in working for them”. Like, what the hell does that even mean. They were the ones who contacted me in the first place.

Previously I had to only study for technical interviews, which are really difficult, but now I have to study for HR interviews as well. Fuck that. I have always hated interviews, as I see them as a contest of who can bullshit the best, but lately it is worse than ever.
