This happened to me back in 2016 so it's been a while.
I applied for a job at a fast food Restaurant; Landed the interview next day.
Well i pulled up to my 4:30pm interview at 4:15pm so plenty of time to spare.
So i decided to walk in an figure out where to go; because the interview manger directions were to show up at 4:30pm he would be at the front waiting.
I walk in to long line, I don't think it professional to just cut the line at a very busy moment;
so I stand in line as if I am a customer to patiently get to the front. Well the line moves very slowly and by the time i have reached the lady. it's 4:28pm so barely made it IMO.
I inform her I am here for my 4:30 pm interview with “Chad” she smirks, says “One moment” heads towards the back and comes back with “Chad” following.
Well I initiate a firm handshake introduce myself “all smiles” . He looks me up and down, looks at his watch, says ” This interview ended at 4:25pm , I will not employee someone who has a lack of utter respect to show up on time.”
I'm in shock, I try stating that I was here at 4:15 pm to give myself plenty of time” before i could say i was in line or anything. He scoffs turns away and walks off. The cashier looks at me and says “have a great rest of your day”
So I left and kept applying for jobs.
I am curious, in your opinion. was he justified did i really mess up by waiting in line? should i have just walked up and interrupted the one busy cashier to get his attention? or I am just lucky to dodge him as boss?
