Constant you’re indispensable….

Been working for a local university for the last 5 years. Took part in tuition reimbursement and got my master’s degree. Since graduating I have done two things. Applied for a job at the same university in new field. Second presented an option to my current boss that new degree would greatly benefit our department but requested a job reclassification and raise. What’s happened, the job I applied for might be going to another person per a good source. Even though I’m qualified and have to stay at the university for a period of time per their tuition reimbursement. The job reclassification keeps getting “I haven’t heard anything from the higher ups yet.” I continue to do my indispensable work. Like a project I’m doing that a replacement might not be able to because it’s beyond the original job description. While I enjoy the university schedule I know my time…

While I enjoy the university schedule I know my time is mostly limited where I’m at. At this point I’m pissed and disappointed and wondering what I should actually do?
