when aesthetic comes before health

I work for a pretty large company. Recently I have tried to reach out to get an ergonomic kneeling chair as it would be more comfortable for how I like to lean forward. After being given the run around on why they won't buy it and that my current chair is plenty sufficient, I offer to buy it myself to bring in and use. I was then told it could be a liability to the company if I somehow injure myself while using this chair. I offer to sign a waiver saying I accept all liability. After some more push back on my end it is revealed to me that “the powers that be” don't allow people to bring in chairs not offered by the company because it would clash with their office aesthetic… Wtf
