Not to get into too much detail, but I was let go from my job a few days ago. Their reason for letting me go was that I don't follow potential customers around and hound them to make irresponsible purchases, something they told me I would never have to do when they hired me and something they never asked other employees to do.
I was mistreated quite frequently at that job after I asked for a raise. I was never given PTO that I had absolutely earned, I was promised benefits such as health insurance, etc. But the most egregious thing, in my opinion, appears to be wage theft. See, they never had us clock in or out. If you stayed late, no matter how late that was… it was never noted. Stayed 15 – 30 minutes late because you weren't allowed to leave? Never compensated. Overtime wasn't allowed, but you were still expected to stay late without compensation if need be. It was normally only a few minutes later, but I have to ask: is this wage theft, and if it is, can I report it?
I'll admit that I want to do this for purely selfish reasons. They treated me and other employees terribly for not doing things that we were promised we would never have to do. So, I basically just want to screw them over. Call me a petty if you want, I know I am, but I wanna know if this is something I can pull off successfully.
