It was a fast food place making sandwhiches. I've worked at another fastfood place which was similiar making sandwhiches. I want to scream. I need a job just to do for 4 months before I start this other job which pays $16.50 an hr.(it doesn't start til May its a life guard job).
On indeed I only apply to places that say $13 and up. The 2nd manager was also being very condensending too saying “oh what did you do at says random place on my job resume he had printed out the other manager gave him from Saturday*” when it clearly said “retail cashier, ringing up items, taking cash”.
I said “I cannot work for under $12, I was expecting $13 but if thats not the case I'm leaving and cannot work here but I'll keep this in mind.”
He then says “oh it can be $10.50 an hr.” I told him “I was expecting $12/$13, that is still not enough.” I even applied to part time which the Saturday manager was ok with bc I study/ itern. He said I could do 8am-4pm but this 2nd manager looked at me and said “really? Can't do longer than 4?” I told him I could possibly do til 6(I really cannot work 40 hrs a week. My limit is 32 hrs a week which is 4 days).
I'm just so sick of this. I cannot 4 months with no money(yes I have like almost $5k saved but its my savings and I don't want to go into it constantly like here and there is ok but I really need atleast a $250-$300 paycheck a week you know.
I found a job close by that's $11 an hr I might just take it bc its better than $9/ $10.50. But I'm just sick of this. It's the 2nd time its happened. This other job which paid $17(cook at resturant) said I couldn't work there unless I'm willing to work 6 or 7 days a week which I can't do.
I only have a permit rn so can't drive and 4 days is basically my limit bc Uber / Lyft I cannot do 5/6/7 days and I itern every Friday/ Saturday(once a week for the career I want).
I just feel so out of luck and hopeless rn 🙁
Anyone else dealing with a similiar situation?
The first manager on Saturday even said he wanted to hire me at $13 an hr and could work with my schedule and wanted me to come back Monday to talk to him and the 2nd manager. Except he wasn't there and it was just the 2nd manager and the 2nd manager wouldn't listen to what the first one said on saturday(even tho he wrote the notes down Saturday for this guy) and spoke condensending to me and lowballed me.
