Had a disappointing conversation with a coworker this morning.
Me: Good morning how are you? Were you off for the long weekend?
Coworker: No, I worked all three days. For free.
Me (confused): Why would you do that?
CW: Because they asked me to. We’ve been short staffed for two years and they haven’t hired anyone.
Me: Maybe they would try harder to find someone if you didn’t work for free? Why don’t they raise the salaries and hire people?
CW: Because no one wants to work anymore. Literally no one wants to work anymore!
More capitalist / right wing brainwashing. Employers don’t even need to exploit workers, they exploit themselves! Just sad to see.
