I was working as a forklift driver. I was expected to honk the loud horn and there was beeping reverse and ultra loud out of fuel alarm right next to the drivers head. As well as shrieking metal banging etc. I have sensitive ears and the osha rules say I should wear ear protection. I was wearing earplugs at work for the loud noises…
So I got a new boss, he waited a couple weeks for my birthday. I know he knew because he signed my work card. I came in that morning and with great delight in his eyes he said its a safety issue and I can't wear earplugs.
I resigned on the spot. Not sure what he thought would happen.
