I’m insanely supportive of working your wage and using your sick leave and PTO when you need to. I really struggle actually following through with it though. I feel super guilty whenever I put in sick leave especially because today I put it in because the road conditions are garbage as it snowed like 7 inches and I commute on the highway (you can tell I’m still trying to justify putting in sick leave when it literally doesn’t matter). Even my coworker who lives in the same town as me told me on Tuesday he’s probably calling in “sick” today because driving in bad weather or bad road conditions isn’t worth a minimum wage job.
I’m personally, pretty mad that I’m twisted into such a state of guilt over calling in sick to a job that only sees me as a number.
