I was talking to my friend last night. She was fired because she didn’t attend a holiday Christmas party at a bar. The only activity of the party was to get drinks and play darts. She is newly sober and explain this to her boss. She didn’t feel strong enough to not be tempted by alcohol.
My friend said they kept guilt tripping her a couple weeks before the party to just “stop in”. She explain why she didn’t want to over and over. I’m really proud of her.
This week they let her go citing “not participating in work functions” as the reason. Her sobriety is more important that he stupid boss’ party (and ego).
