Does anyone know of any templates for a reply/renegotiation to a severance letter? I’m not hiring a lawyer for this. It would cost everything they’re giving me.
My company is only offering me 6 weeks pay. They didn’t pay out for my accrued sick leave (68 hours) and since we have unlimited PTO I can’t collect that, but we were offered one week to be taken within 90 days for working during Christmas week and mine was scheduled for Feb 6th. Obviously had I known I was being laid off I would have taken it sooner.
Anything else that should be asked for? My only bargaining chip is retaliation for complaining to HR about a colleague (I was offered a transfer to another team and after my meeting with HR it was rescinded). Unfortunately I can only go so far with that as I was locked out of my company MacBook when trying to save my reviews. And they also claim we’re downsizing so it’s not about performance (although they claimed my skill set and performance was judged against others and I was cut). For reference I produce the most work of my team members (the highest according to my year review) and I’m the only one who is scrum, project management, and QA certified so that’s a lie.
Anyway ideas on how to reply would be greatly appreciated.
