I recently came back to a job because I left for a company with poor upper management but gained a lot out of my experience there. My old boss offered me a job in a part time leadership position with full time hours. I only left because the team I was working with was extremely toxic and it destroyed my mental health.
After being back for a month my fellow managers were impressed with my performance, and I was offered a “promotion”into the position I was originally in before I left, but it was restructured into a one person role instead of a two person role (I would like to say that I had been at this company previously for 5 years). I was told that the work load would be more and I would be more responsible. I am completely okay with that and asked what my pay rate would be. My boss said she would talk to her boss and let me know.
Well a few weeks go by and I hear nothing, my boss and I have different work schedules so it’s hard to get a chance to schedule a meeting. Well yesterday I finally see my boss and they tell me I’m not getting a raise, according to the company, moving into the full time position that has company benefits is the “real raise.” The kicker is I have to pay for the benefits.
