So when I got hired I made it abundantly clear, in no uncertain terms, what my schedule was. Of my 3 bosses only one was willing to hire me, later she quit and I got transferred to one of the other bosses and she hated that I wasn't willing to work over time or flex my schedule, we butted heads 2 or 3 times over it, it got to the polite side of yelling because it wasn't fair to everyone else that I got to chose my schedule.
So that boss just got promoted to director, and she came up with a new rule that everyone who has my job title needs to be available 24/7 for their clients no matter what. Not even for emergencies, like if my dude wants to go shopping and I'm hanging out with friends I have to drop what I'm doing, clock in, and go pick him up.
But it's “fair” because I can comp out the time during the week so I don't get over time, and because it's a new rule that everyone has to follow.
Even on my days off, if my dude calls me and says he wants to go see a movie I have to actually drop everything and go and do it.
I'm hoping/anticipating a lot of 2 week notices in the next few days including mine.
