A lot of snow was expected for tomorrow and my boss let me know I can take the day off…

Am I allowed to ignore any calls/texts tomorrow if they change their mind? I got the message about no work via text so I have proof of it, would I be risking my job safety by not coming in if it turns out to be a nice day?
