In my area most hire you off the street jobs are $14-$18 an hour and anything $20 and above ask for experience….
In my experience most of the $14-$18 hour jobs I’ve been hired into offered little to no upward mobility.
After hundreds of “sorry we are looking for people with more experience” emails and talking to folks that companies only want poach people from other companies but in the same breath bitch that other companies poach their employees and it’s a round robin of job hopping every few years to increase pay.
For those looking to break in the buck is passed to spend a lot of money and/or time in developing skills instead of companies having training programs to get people up to speed in these better paying roles.
Who on here has successfully landed a decent job where it was understood you could develop the necessary skills on the job?
