I was the only person in charge of the Logistics department at this company. I was told they cant afford to pay me over 50k (Canadian). I started browsing for jobs at work and came across an ad.. for my exact job..
I printed it off and went to HR to ask what this was, she replied “We are splitting your job in half because we know you need the help” I said “Okay.. so why is it paying 10k more than me..” she replied “Oh you dont have any experience doing Logistics so we need someone who can do the job” ….I have been here for 1.5 years on my own running the department on top of 6 years experience. I was then told “Well you can apply for the job and interview like everyone else”
Fast forward to the person they hired, 3 years younger than me (26) and no logistics experience. He showed me his pay stub this week and sure enough 60k salary. They also expect me to train him fully and to cover eachother when someone has vacation….
I guess I have a fair claim to file an ESA complaint in Ontario, Canada.
TLDR; My company hired someone new to split the work with me but gave him 10k more based on his 0 years of experience and now require me to train him and cover him when he is on vacation.
