I unfortunately experienced a shocking and unexpected phone call from my boss yesterday.
For context I work in large healthcare company helping spearhead a new serviceline for a region.
Apart from clinical I was quite instrumental in the data management and tracking trends and the success of this serviceline. We just received news on Friday that we're going system (huge deal)
A supervisor, whom many dislike, has been frequently causing issues by finding errors in our scheduling, etc a little too late then mass emailing everyone about her findings.
Yesterday, another one of her late findings was found, issue with incorrect charging when we had been in 30 email chain conversations about correct charges.
My boss flipped out and showed a side I never expected. I admired, respected and loved working with her until this phone call.
Not only was she deamning in tone and saying I lacked common sense for this error, but she asked me in a sarcastic and insulting way “are you okay? You seem disconnected?”
I am a reserved and introverted person and dislike comments like “you're quiet”
I didn't really say much and my boss is having a big meeting about this on Monday.
I'm completely blind sighted by this. My colleagues and I are all quiting (which will result in a huge mess, especially that it's gone system wide).
It really sucks as I was happy to work there and for her and spoke highly of her. I now know she's two faced and a regards me low, despite her positive remarks on me. It's frustrating and confusing but I'm happy that this was the final push to get me to fully invest into a data role
