I started a job at Arby’s, nothing fancy, but I need to make money to stay housed. Everything was going great I was even so confident as to train a couple of people the tips that I learned as I was learning. It was only five days into my employment and I get a new supervisor that “knows what they’re doing” I get there for the closing shift and the place is in the worst condition I’ve seen it yet. It’s as quiet as a morgue and the shift manager is using their phone to play music without any speaker (there’s three there). I clock in and am told immediately to clock out as labor costs are too high and wait for the exact time, which causes me to be late. Already irked, I notice that nothing on the back line is stocked and both slicers are filthy. I cut a couple heads by hand and they more than pass for shredded lettuce as I’ve had 7 years to figure it out while dishwashing. I’m reprimanded by that, and gesture to the dirty slicer and they tell me to clean it. I gather the shredded lettuce and return to the orders to clean it when there was a break. I make six orders and clean the board twice, making at least 16 sandwiches in 30 minutes and I’m told if I don’t like how the place is I should leave. I don’t and the shift lead calls the corporate manager and tells me she wants me to leave or she will call the police. Tl/dr worked too hard at an Arby’s and found the weak link in less than a week
