Open-AI’s (ChatGPT) Sam Altman has gone on record saying “ai will quickly make the value of knowledge marginally zero”.
With Open-AI rumored to be hiring 1000 contractors to quicken ChatGPT’s transformers model in understanding and iterating complex code, billionaires are waging war on our knowledge and our power.
Programming and software engineering are some of the few in demand, upper middle class jobs left in America.
They’re using open source code that people have personally built to replace these jobs. It’s time to unionize.
And future iterations will affect every industry, requiring LESS people (less salaries for companies to pay) to do any knowledge based jobs.
Knowledge is power. And we have the knowledge to speak up and demand workers’ rights be protected at the federal level.
And don’t bring the defeatist logic into this thread of “it’s inevitable”. That’s literally been said of every issue throughout history.
We honestly have foresight and tools at our disposal to combat this. But it requires collaboration.
