Anyone else have this happen to them? Many times, this will be under a fake cloud of “concern” that the employee was kidnapped, hurt, or something. However, I believe the purpose is really to strike back at the employee for leaving without notice and text. I'm not talking about calling police when an employee of 10 years suddenly goes missing with no response and no show, but when a new hire quits 2 weeks in and doesn't call or show up.
