I speak poorly of my organization and the people in it with other people (US)

I don’t swear or make fun of them in any way. I speak about the things they do or have done. I don’t just speak this in front of anyone, there are people that I’m open with about certain things. Ive learned there can be bad people in an organization and they’re protected. These people never cross a legal line but they make peoples lives difficult. They mentally push people. They punish people. HR pushes it down if it’s brought up, unless there’s a clear legal violation. Which there never is or would be very difficult to prove, like hearsay. It’s not just a single thing they do but the way they operate over time.

This treatment causes severe problems in people. I was told one person had a medical emergency that was the result of a stressful workplace and went on long term FMLA.

Some people literally have to choose between their families and work. I witnessed this first hand. With two weeks notice, we now work weekends. We weren’t asked. We weren’t consulted with. They didn’t care if it meant spending spending less time with family, your children. What’s worse, it clearly wasn’t needed and they eventually undid it. It was a slap in the face and essentially forced someone to resign because they were unable to meet the new requirements.

Every organization has been like this. The people at the top are treated much much differently than the people at the bottom.
It reminds me of the experiment with the prisoners and guards. The guards protect the guards and the prisoners tend to suffer.
