I always tought that the US tax system was more relaxed on workers than the french system. Letting individuals more reliants on private welfare.
Last time, i saw some guy from the US detailling his salary before and after tax in this sub.
So I made a quick simulation to compare how much would someone be taxed with the same salary in France.
The result surprized me. For the same gross salary, the french worker pays (just) 686 € more on taxes (if we consider that 1€= 1$). This is just an estimation. But we can consider that this is close to the reality (my yearly salary is close to that and i can confirm).
Even if France is not a socialist country, the welfare system is known to be generous. At least more than the US. Or maybe i’m wrong.
Could someone who lived in both countries help us to understand the differences ?
