Work after maternity leave

I was wondering if anyone could offer some advice regarding FMLA. I’m a teacher in Delaware. I gave birth to my son in November and am scheduled to go back to work March 1st. Teaching doesn’t pay incredibly well and newborns are expensive, so ideally I’m trying to figure out if there is a way to extend my paid leave. Even if unpaid, it would be tight, but just extending my leave I think would give me a chance to get myself together a bit more mentally and continue seeking help.

I feel hopeless and like I’m running out of time to come up with a solution. Does anyone have any advice about options that may be available to me?
