Landlord Tenant Board of Ontario: Notice to evict/pay rent owed to landlord – 1 month maximum. Notice for landlord to make property suitable for habitation: 8 months – 1 year maximum.

Basically, in Ontario, Canada, where rent costs are extreme due to “unforseen circumstances” and “high demand”, the Tenant Landlord board of Tribunals Ontario will waste no time evicting you for non payment, even if the building your living in is dilapidated, has no running water, heat, Airconditioning, etc.., even if the current conditions of your rental violate the lease terms, and you're not paying the rent because the landlord refuses repairs. But you want to get the OLTB to crack down on your slumlord apartment manager or management company? “Sorry, there's a backlog. Live in these destitute conditions and we'll maybe get to you this year. It's not our fault covid happened.” Fuck Ontario and it's piece of shit government.
