New hire makes 35k more than I do

I (30F) have an advanced degree and work in pediatric healthcare. I am a specialist in my field. I specifically took my current job three years ago because it’s in my niche field. I required no training and jumped right into the clinic as soon as I started. Now, I love my work and the children I work with. I found out the new hire makes 35k more than me. He’s newly graduated and does not specialize in my field. He needs at least two months of training to catch up to speed. I’ve been asked to train him. I’ve been asking for a raise for months and have been given the runaround. Now, you hire a new guy, are paying him more and expect me to help train him on top of my everyday responsibilities? Get out of here with that noise.
