If I have to schedule myself, I need a raise

Okay, so I work at a major home improvement store- graveyard, freight. Schedules are supposed to be out on Saturdays. Since the new year started, no one is on the schedule. They have been leaving it blank. When you clock in it says uoure not scheduled, yhen you have to tupe in why youre there and who approved it. You show up if there's a truck otherwise, it's your choice to come in (but you don't know until last minute if they call). I don't know where or how to check if trucks are coming I've asked for a consistent 3/4 day schedule which I am happy to supplement should they need extra hands (my first 2 months were a consistent schedule) They want me to check in every day to ensure there's a Truck. Some nights, the truck never shows, so you sit around I don't do ANYTHING with…

  1. I don't know where or how to check if trucks are coming
  2. I've asked for a consistent 3/4 day schedule which I am happy to supplement should they need extra hands (my first 2 months were a consistent schedule)
  3. They want me to check in every day to ensure there's a Truck. Some nights, the truck never shows, so you sit around

I don't do ANYTHING with work if I'm not scheduled or being paid. I'm not checking email (I don't even know my work email anyway because everything stays on their in-house network and you're not supposed to do any work if you're not on the clock – their explicit instructions).

I feel like checking in every day when they are refusing to create a schedule is not my job. It's frustrating and the last minute “you can come in or not” is killing me – my sleep is a sh*tshow right now which, of course, makes everything in life harder.

So I really DO want to know: if they won't write me into the schedule, do I bear any responsibility in checking every day if a truck is coming for me to go in at night (11pm-5am)? Others believe it is my responsibility. I say there's no way. I just want to know so I can plan ahead. Thanks for kind advice.
