I moved away from Texas, and my position was made remote so i could keep working b/c the company is very much struggling to find qualified workers and has a HUGE backlog. Today, the office is closed due to inclement weather in the area. The only people working are my boss who regularly works from home b/c im not sure why (who is also a severe workaholic and brags about it) and a single PM who got a laptop when they were out for medical leave last month. 20 minutes after 8 am, he messaged me and asked where i was b/c I should be working. I reminded him of the message he sent out in the department chat about the office being closed. He told me as a (the only) remote enployee who isn't affected by the weather, i am required to work. There isnt even any actual work to do, he has me doing busy work as i have been for the past 3 days b/c for some reason we have a huge backlog but no work for me to do. I can't find another job fast enough. It was nice that they were able to work with me in my move, but ever since i became remote, this job has gotten progressively worse.
