Hi, I'm a slave just like you. I have to work for a living but I managed to carve out a semblance of a life by getting into an ok position.
I work for a UK governmental body, we get paid slightly above UK average, mid level. I work 35 hours a week. I get 6 weeks paid vacation. 10 days bank holidays sprinkled throughout the year. I have Flexi, every hour worked over 35 hours I get to carry it forward and take it later or accumulate them for a full day off. We have also been fully remote since covid.
3 months ago (November) our big boss left, in came a new boss from outwith our department.
Unfortunately our productivity can't be hidden as our system tracks open items, plus how many are closed by each person etc.
Took the new boss 3 months to notice when he looked at 2019 Vs 2022. We were at 68% closed work items in 2022 compared to 2019, with 1 more staff member. Now he wants us back in the office 3 out of 5.
This has literally pissed me off so much, I never wanted to go back to the office again. Don't fuck over your fellow slaves. My productivity has remained more or less the same so some people are royally fucking over the rest of us. Devastated.
