Question: If I signed and agreed to joining a job offer can I quit before my start date despite submitting all my paperwork that says I’ll be working there otherwise?

Kind of scared to email and feeling bad for saying I will be starting there with them. I think I’m going to stay where I am as it’s closer to me and the pay is more or less the same.
