I’ve been working at this southern fast food place (Chic-Fil-A rip-off) for almost a year now, and a couple hours ago I got sent home after a man attacked me in the drive through.
I’ve been pretty done with this job for awhile, I’m one of the only closers so each time I’ve come close to leaving people beg me to stay. I make crap even though I do multiple peoples job over labor shortages.
A man started cursing out my coworker over the headset because he didn’t want a drink with his meal, so I took over and explained he had to or he can’t get the meal, he gets 2 bottles of water throws a giant fit and drives through.
He pays I hand him the first water and he starts cursing at me, calling me a stupid bitch screaming like an infant. I ask “what the fuck is your problem” when I’m giving him the second water, he snatches it all hard and then he grabbed my wrist, so I started swinging. I landed one punch and then he got out of the car trying to come through the drive through window trying to grab me, screaming he wanted his money back saying he’ll beat the shit of me and kill me, so I threw all his food at his face and told him to get out.
I slammed the window and people were grabbing me and pulling me back as he opened it and kept trying to go through it, he was screaming he would kill me and sue me and the entire store.
I was blamed and told to get the fuck out like a grown man wasn’t putting his hands on a teenage girl over some fucking water bottles. It’s been a few hours and the manager that sent me home said he spoke to higher ups and that ill be fine and wants me to finish the shift for tonight, I’m scared to work again I didn’t know if he had a gun or knife he kept reaching in his pocket I was terrified. If I go back I don’t know what will happen, if he comes back or if I’m in trouble for “aggravating” the situation when it was fight or flight.
I’m scared the police might get involved I don’t know what to do and Im worried about what will happen. The manager said I should have had better self control when I told him what happened, I’m pissed and can’t stop crying, I don’t have any other option but to work there right now.
