My last boss was shady with money and now my current one is too.
I’m pretty sure my last boss (he was a district manager, not an owner) was stealing from the company. He also would gaslight us about raises and then act like he never said that, unfulfilled promised bonuses, etc.
My current boss, who I have worked for before years ago, whom I also have much respect for is also shady. To my surprise, he secretly cut multiple employees pay by little amounts to increase his profitability. He also made some other remarks to me in confidence about how he COULD short employees tips if he wanted to.
It is just a sad realization that most people are basically employed to make profit for these big guys, and at the end of the day, most of them would take from us in a heartbeat. The sad part is I had mad respect for this man, now I’m not so sure I trust him.
