Old post hunt: senior exec got overlooked in reorg and continued showing up to work without any real work to do, but had impressive globe collection

My search terms are failing me… does anyone else remember this? The position was a general safety engineer or something ambiguous that no one knew what he did. He eventually found someone else in the same position so they could compare notes. Was once sent dozens of cases of globes which somehow authenticated his importance.
