i had to call off today because of a situation regarding the vacation i'm about to take (keep in mind, this is my first time taking a vacation in the almost two years i've worked there) and it literally came up last minute so i had no control over it.
here's how the conversation went:
boss: hello, this is (boss name)
me: hi (boss name) it's OP. how are you?
boss: i'm great OP, how are you?
me: i'm alright. so listen, i just wanted to update you about the current situation i'm in. i unfortunately wasn't able to find somebody to cover my shift, and i am still not able to come in today, so i may just have to sit this one out today. i'm sorry.
boss: awkward silence okay. thank you.
me: thank you, have a good day.
boss: yep. bye.
this really bothered me because my boss is usually super nice and understanding, even when it comes to stuff like this, but she just sounded so annoyed and pissed with me, which isn't really like her. now i feel bad and almost regret calling out because i hate when people are mad at me. how can i just move past this and not let it affect my day?
