My family and I recently got COVID and I have to miss a whole week of work. We all feel like shit and I even had to go to the hospital. I told my boss, and she didn't even bother to respond. Apparently it was too much of an inconvenience for her, so she had another manager text me to get my doctors note. This manager also didn't say shit. Like it's just such a drag on them that I'm sick. I'm not special, I get that, but goddamn, you can't even say anything? Get well soon? Hope you and your family are ok? Zero humanity.
Now I'm going to be missing half my paycheck (what is sick pay anyway?), my family is still sick, hospital bill that I'll never be able to pay (what is health insurance anyway?) and I'm going to be getting shit from my boss for something that I have no control over. All for a fucking job that pays me 33k a year before taxes. I honestly don't know if I can even pay rent next week when it's due. All because I got sick. Why does it have to be like this man…..
