Is it normal to expect someone to work as a machine?

So I started this job as an accounts payable a month ago as. I'm the only one in the department and after a month I can fairly saying I'm starting to ease in the work load, the different vendors that we get and figuring out the new system. I also have to mention that the first week I started there was someone else with me in the department but she quit – she was a no show, no call and when they contacted her she said she's not coming in anymore – so ofc all her work load which was hundred something invoices was handed out to me. Also my manager has been pretty chill so far, and I've had no issues with him. That's just a little context. So now for what happened today.

I went to my manager to ask him about an invoice I was struggling with. He tells me we'll check it tmrw, I working on smth atm. I say okay and proceed to leave, but he was like btw you entered less than 30 invoices today, and you need to pick up the pace. To which I replied that it's not possible because according to the count on the software we use I saw that I over 35 invoice today. He was like I'm not trying to blame you I'm just telling you that you need to pick up the pace. So I asked him how many invoices do you expect me to enter daily? He replied by saying well I expect you to enter 100 invoices per day. At this point I was dumbfounded, and I was like a 100 invoice per day? Really? Okay.. Then I excused myself and left

When I went back to my desk I did the math. So 8 hours a day is 480 minutes, let's divide that by the 100 freaking invoice that gives us 4.8 minutes spent per invoice.
So, say I don't even take a second to catch my breath or even use the bathroom, is it actually normal to expect one person process an invoice every 5 mins? Am I in the wrong here? Or is it actually insane to expect someone to basically work like a machine?
