I'm on mobile so sorry for formatting and also I'm loosing my ever loving mind rn so sorry if this is kinda rambly.
This is not the first time I've dealt with a company being unable to pay me but this is definitely the most frustrating to me.
I work for a very large company, a very well-known company. They have literally thousands upon thousands of employees.
I started working or said company on the 17th of January 2023 so I'm relatively new. For the past year however, I was working as a subcontractor for this company and now I'm a direct contractor.
My first paycheck they tried to direct deposit to me but they couldn't, for whatever reason my account was listed as inactive. We think it's because they misspelled my name when they were entering my data into all of the systems but the reason doesn't really matter. So because of the direct deposit didn't work they sent me a physical check. That check took 6 days to get to me. On top of that my bank took an additional 6 days to release those funds to me so I had to wait almost two weeks to get my paycheck. Now my bank taking days to approve the check and release the funds isn't technically my company's fault. HOWEVER, I wouldn't have had to deposit a check if they didn't fuck up whatever it was that they fucked up. So I didn't get my paycheck from the 27th of January until the 8th of February, literally two days ago. Y'all I was pissed, that low-key fucked me over but we're good now.
Now I have trust issues so every single day this week, I have logged on to our little payroll website and checked to make sure that my name was spelled correctly, my account and routing numbers were correct, and that my direct deposit account was in an active status. Every single day this week it's been perfectly fine.
I was supposed to get paid this morning and I didn't, so I called my boss and told him I wasn't coming in until I got my paycheck and he was super understanding. I then called the payroll department to figure out what the fuck was up. The absolute sweetest lady answers the phone and I explained to her the situation and she then informs me that my direct deposit account is, once again, listed as inactive. Now, I work in customer service so I am incredibly polite when it comes to shit like this. I try so hard, even if I'm really really frustrated and pissed off, to not take it out on the poor bitch that answers the phone because it's not their fault and I know how fucking awful it is to get screamed at over something that is not at all your fault. But you guuuuuuuyyyyyyssss, it was really hard today. You could hear me shaking trying to stay calm. And this lady was so nice too, she was so apologetic and I'm not mad at her whatsoever, she was an absolute angel, I love her. So I tell her like “I'm not mad at you I'm just really frustrated with this,” and she is so understanding, she said that she would be screaming at whatever poor individual answered the phone if she were in my position, which made me feel so valid in my frustration. But I asked her like when I'm going to get my check and she says that they'll probably try to deposit it again on Monday but she is going to talk to her manager and see if there is any way they can redeposit it today. We went through together on the phone and made sure everything was correct, it's back in an active status, etc etc. She can't figure out why my account keeps being listed as inactive. She says there's nothing wrong with it and she doesn't see any logs stating why it keeps being listed as inactive. I have my own theories at this point in regard to retaliation but that's a whole ass other story. So we don't know.
She said that they would give me a call back but as of right now I still have not received my paycheck. I guess I'll update you when I can. I'm just so pissed off I could cry.
