I was laid-off on the day of my 3 month anniversary from my most recent employer. Now 4 months post lay-off my direct manager reached out to me on LinkedIn to see if I was interested in doing some contract work them.
This message irked me so much because not once did they provide me with well wishes or assistance for my next role. They literally left me in the dust. The day of the lay-off my manager spoke for 2 min to lmk i was being let go and immediately hopped off the call to let the “business manager/HR” person to just simply tell me that the decision was final. The CEO reached out to me on Linkedin a few days later to say that “i would re-hire you in a sec” and asked how they could help. I requested to endorse me on any of the skills on LinkedIn to help boost my profile. She responded “absolutely, you got it” and then completely ghosted me.
It's just upsetting because they recognize my value and now that they need someone, they don't want to go thru the grueling task of hiring someone new for contract work. Being an insider i can see that multiple people from that organization have been viewing my profile.
I didn't respond my former managers message and frankly don't want to. I would totally be open to suggestions once i secure a new role lol.
