I am a registered nurse in a developing country. To make the story short, I'll start by saying that it's very difficult to find any type of job in here, even as a nurse. What they mainly need are nurse assistants who can do part of our job but cheaper.
So, I got offered the job position that a friend from university had. She got it because of her mom's connections. They didn't pay much but it was okay and the tasks were very my style. I accepted and got enrolled for the training week (which just finished yesterday).
Yesterday they discussed our salaries and I got surprised by how low they were. Way lower than what my friend told me she gained. I talked to her and she said there was an issue her mom was trying to solve. Turns out this year they decided the position was supposed to be performed by a nurse assistant and not by a nurse, therefore, It'll be a nurse assistant salary.
I haven't signed the contract yet but I certainly could. Nonetheless, I feel sad and angry. I've had a really rough time trying to find a job and once I find it this happens. I feel frustrated and a bit like a loser, like, almost being taken advantage of.
I need the money, I really do. I have no other option that's near as solid as this one and, therefore, I'm truly considering working even if it's like this.
