Fired shortly after asking for accommodation

I just want to preface that this happened in 2021, I was working for a local chocolate company in my area that was bought by a rich guy as a gift for his wife (important later). I worked as an assistant in the admin department and would also take invoices for wholesale. I only worked about 15-20 hours a week. While I was there the boss (rich guys wife) asked me if I could babysit regularly as her young son took a liking to me. I agreed because I had shit pay and could barely make rent (big mistake) started working an additional 10-15 hours taking care of him at their home. Now this is where things get dicey. I just want to preface that this happened in 2021,

I was working for a local chocolate company in my area that was bought by a rich guy as a gift for his wife (important later).

I worked so few hours in the beginning because I was trying to manage life long mental health issues. I was able to find a psychiatrist and I was diagnosed with PTSD and ADHD, my doctor gave me recommendations to start treatment. Anyone that has mental health issues knows that medication is very much a trial and error process, so I was closely monitored being seen by my medical team around 2-3 times a week. As the process went on my mental health got a lot worse before it got better, I told my boss that I would need to stop babysitting for her due to this and gave a two weeks notice. She basically refused and said I can just do it for a few more months until summer, I stood my ground and said I can only do two more weeks. I needed to up my hours in the office so I could still make rent and my manager agreed. During these two weeks she basically brought her kid in any day I was at the office and just dumped him on me to take care of him, nothing but snide remarks and rudeness ever since I told her I would no longer babysit. She would also randomly change my schedule without notice on a whim despite any scheduling that was agreed upon between me and my manager. With all this going on I was in a really dark place and had my medical team on call, any worse and I would’ve had to check myself into the hospital. I let my boss know this and she immediately cut my last two weeks of babysitting short.

After about a week of rest I was back in the office and working out accommodation with my manager so I could get an adequate amount of hours and be able to make it to all of my medical appointments. She approved a schedule for me when… oops! boss lady decided to give me a random schedule. My issues are protected by the ADA so I sent her the government website explaining this. She sat me down for a meeting the next day and said here’s the accommodations I will give you, take it or leave it. I let her know that they didn’t work for me and that I could have my doctor contact her to try and work something out. She said “this company doesn’t run around your schedule and my lawyer says this is all I have to offer you. Take this or leave.” I said fine and packed up everything in my desk and turned in my keys. She basically said I’m taking this as your resignation and wrote some shit down on a notepad. I knew that was absolute bullshit and filed for unemployment for being fired, luckily my manager was there for the meeting so my claim was approved.

I tried to put in a claim about being fired for asking for accommodation but I guess my story was too messy so nothing came of it. I know that this was two years ago now but do y’all think I’d be able to do anything about this?? It’s always rubbed me the wrong way that she can get away with treating her employees like this.
