Submitted my resignation to my boss this morning. For some reason, the regional manager “doesn’t know what goes on in our department” so I made sure to cc them as well.

Good Morning I am writing this email to submit my resignation, effective immediately.  Since I have started working in [name of department] I have been consistently working 10 to 12 hours a day, and having to come back to the office has only made that day longer. I leave for work at 6:30 am, and get home at 8, 9, sometimes 10pm at night. The work is nonstop, and we do not even have time to take lunch breaks because the workload is so heavy. The amount of stress, workload, and long hours have taken a toll on my physical and mental health, as well as put a strain on my relationships outside of work. Good Morning

I am writing this email to submit my resignation, effective immediately.

I no longer have the time nor energy to do the things I enjoy, and when I asked to work a couple less hours of overtime one day a week, in order to finish out my [sport] season, I was told no, causing me to have to drop out of an activity I really enjoyed, and paid for.

Furthermore, the workload is not delegated fairly at all in this department. A recent example of this, is while I work in the client facing office on the first floor, I did 40 [work items] in a single day in addition to all of the other responsibilities of the first floor office, while a colleague of mine, who is in a higher position, and does not work on the first floor thus not having any of those responsibilities, did 3 [work items] the entire day, they were not doing other work because I audited their work for that day, and their only other responsibility was being taught to another downstairs colleague of mine that day. That is just one example of many that I have, and to avoid making this email way too long, I will leave it at that.

It is for these reasons above, that I can no longer justify working here. I am tired, overworked and burned out. Please have HR contact me as to where they would like me to send my computer equipment.
