The article in question:

I see that WSJ is functioning again as the propaganda arm for a variety of business groups. This combined with the latest assault on social security benefits.
The propaganda is that we are all going to live 20 years longer than our grandparents and so we'll all need to start working 20 years later.
It's an interesting take given that right now the U.S. working age population is starting a long decline and less workers means more wage competition and likely higher wages and there is nothing business groups hate more than higher wages…EXCEPT:
If people continue to retire at the current age then benefits being paid out will have to come from higher taxes, and there is NOTHING business hate than higher taxes.
The reason I call this propaganda is I keep seeing it repeated over and over again by various business sources and business friendly elected officials, but the odd thing is that all of them keep repeating the same 20 years, which tells me it's coordinated from the same playbook.
The problem is it's all a lie. Below is the chart showing what the increase in life expectancy is…at most 8-10 years, and we are losing ground. The push now is for people to work until death to keep wages and taxes down.
