Not sure where to post this: United States social security that gets taken out of my paycheck. Where does it go and when will I see it again?

A family friend said my Social Security wages that are taken out of my paycheck is funding the Boomer’s lifestyle and by the time we are all older, there will be no social security left. What do you think ? Please let me know what sub to post this in , if this is the wrong one. Thanks.
